"HARRIS JAYARAJ"It's been an eventful year for Harris Jayaraj who started his career more than a decade back through Gautham Menon's 'Minnale'. The ace composer kick started his live concert tour by late 2011 which have been received well with open arms by his fans and music lovers.CINEMAREEL wishes the music composer a very happy birthday and an eventful year ahead! "Amala Paul" has revealed that she is constructing a house at Kochi in Kerala. At the same time, the Prema Khaidi girl, who is getting ready for the release of 'Vettai' in Tamil, and who has a film opposite Siddharth (titled as Love Failure, which is a bi-lingual), also said she would settle in Chennai this year to take care of her acting career. "STR"Vetrimaran, along with his team members, stayed in Madurai for sometime before starting 'Aadukalam', to get the feel of the temple town. Apparently, it was this dedication that made the film to make a strong presence at the National Awards. Now that the director is gearing up to start his next, titled 'Vada Chennai', he is planning to hold a workshop for the actors he has roped in. We learn, lead players STR and Rana Daggubati, besides other members of the cast, will attend it. "Jayam Ravi & Nag Chaitanya in 'Delhi Belly'"Grapevine is abuzz that Bollywood cult 'Delhi Belly' will roll in South with Jayam Ravi or Nag Chaitanya in the lead! The film will be directed by Kannan and the final talks are on with the lead star after which it will be announced officially. "Dam 999"The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the Government of Tamil Nadu, seeking its response to a writ petition filed by producer-director Sohan Roy, challenging the six-month ban the government imposed on the screening of his film 'Dam 999' in the State. A bench of justices, A K Ganguly and J S Khehar posted the matter for further hearing to January 13. The State had banned the film on the ground that it would pose law and order problems as it made apparent references to the Mullaiperiyar dam which is the bone of contention between Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The State government had initially banned the film for two weeks; after giving the petitioner a personal hearing, it passed an order on December 16 last year, extending the ban for six months. Opposing this, the petitioner filed the writ petition seeking quashing of the order. Sohan Roy alleged that the ban was extended without any valid reason. Passed under Section 7 the Tamil Nadu Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1955, the order went against the Constitution, violating as it did Entry 60 of the Union List of Schedule VII of the Constitution, he said.
